I really wanted to like this book. I loved The City of Dreaming Books and was excited to read the rest of the series. The pacing here is incredibly slow. The humor almost always falls flat. Wasn’t for me.

This book told me that there is such a thing as too much whimsy. Many of the individual elements are amusing but it would have been nice to have a story develop after a while.

Maybe if each chapter was printed separately as a series of bed time stories but as a novel it was pretty grating.
