Nothing bad I was just bored

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. There's Fae, there are mortals, a cunniving queen, a self-centered prince, a realm at war with itself. It had potential.

the Good:
- The writing style is fluid and the editing of the book precluded most annoying repetitions.

the Bad:
- If we look past the fact that I'm kind of over the Fae, the book was boring. Almost 500 pages (Fairyloot edition) of boring.
- The mortal realms chapters kep me from getting engaged with the Fae realm stories.
- The constant reminder that the main character is a "weapon" got old, past page 200.
-Rogan is very annoying.
- Bruising kisses everywhere... such a strange concept.

This had a few moments I loved and the prose is admittedly beautiful, this is very “quotable” but the story structure left a lot to be desired

Beautiful story which draws you in and has you reliving all the emotions with Fia

I really wanted to like this. The plot seemed interesting and the writing is lovely - but I could not get past Fia as a character. That could be my personal feelings and not a mark on the writing. But I wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t enjoy MCs who seem too self-congratulatory then self-effacing in a single page. I think it really struck me when Rogan was described as having “filled out” from childhood. Sorry, but that was my line of “not my vibe”. Doesn’t mean I won’t try something else from this author, but this one was a pass for me.
