We all know how utterly brilliant Maya Angelou was. She was an inspiring, courageous and intelligent woman and most of all a wonderful writer.
Nevertheless I could not give the book any more stars than three, because it is just not very well curated.
The selected writings by Angelou are supposed to be the very of hers, but I cannot say that I agree, but even more importantly they felt very randomly selected and forced into categories that didn't necessarily make sense. One category was just called "general thoughts and opinions". If you are to read Maya Angelous work, I would recommend reading something she published herself.
