The beginning was okay but the plot just went way to haywire for me. The romance was so strange and pointless? There was not real buildup - and the end was just strange and confusing.

I rate based on vibes, and this book had all the vibes I was looking for. I loved it. A magical house, mystical dark beasts, small town full of whispers, secrets, death and bad luck!? Generations of family trees deconstructed and pieced together to make sense of the world. Kindness wins, the world is made of dreams and magic is real. I don’t even know how to talk about how much I loved it without giving spoilers. Read it.

I was very confused for the first 20-40% of the book. It didn’t really start to get interesting until around 40%. The first part was VERY slow.

The middle and ending were faster paced and more interesting. As an older sister that raised my younger sister, some shit just hit different. Interesting story, liked the romance elements and the creepiness of it.
