Dominique Castle has been on her own since she was 18 but she's made a life for herself working at Red Stone Security and she loves her friends. So when she runs into Viktor Ivanov her world is shaken. Dominique blames Viktor's father for the gambling debt that destroyed her parents and eventually lead to their divorce and her mother's suicide. She wants nothing to do with Viktor who she assumes is just like his mobster father. Viktor's past is checkered but he believes there are some lines that shouldn't be crossed, which is why he's always hated his father. When he first sees Dominique he's immediately attracted but once he realizes who she is, he feels remorse for what his father put her family through.

Both of these characters are used to keeping a hard shell around their emotions, so their romance was a bit of work. Dominique doesn't trust Viktor, rightly so, and believes he's a monster like his father. But with time she realizes that he's actually protective, honorable, and caring and though this happens relatively easily, Dominique is still smart about how she handles things. She's clearly a headstrong and confident woman but with Viktor she feels like she can relax and be taken care of. I did want to know more about Viktor's past because several times Katie Reus alludes to a more criminal lifestyle but we don't really get any details. It's clear that Viktor has turned things around and he keeps things legal but past enemies coming after him is a big part of the storyline.

There is also a side romance with Viktor's brother and business partner who is crushing hard on their efficient assistant. Overall, this was a quick read but it just doesn't stand out for me. It's probably the book in the series I was the least invested in.

A sexy romance perfect for fun

After reading the books of Lyosha and Dimitri, I was curious to learn more about the mysterious Viktor and discover his love story with Dominique ... And I read their story with pleasure (and the one of his brother and his assistant =D) even if it wasn't easy given their past (his father was so horrible !!)

In short, a sexy romance with a touch of darkness that I read with pleasure

Another enjoyable book in this series, although I must admit to being a bit dubious when I started as Dominique seems with good reason to despise Viktor and I couldn't see how they would ever end up together. Yet they did, and the story made total sense, the relationship wasn't rushed and Dominique's slow acceptance that her preconceived idea of Viktor and his business dealings was wrong helped with that. I also liked the additional story between Viktor's assistant Lucy and Half Brother Abram and the two stories combined well plus there was a little suspense and some action towards the end of the story which I enjoyed too and I would certainly recommend it to any fan of the series.

Oh my goodness, I loved this book so much more than I was expecting to! Love Thy Enemy by Katie Reus is the 13th Red Stone Security book, and it's right up there with my favorites (along with Danger Next Door). Love Thy Enemy is about Dominique Castle, a Red Stone Security employee, and Viktor Ivanov, a businessman whose Russian gangster father is connected to Dominique's past.

Love Thy Enemy totally surprised me. Although I did expect to enjoy it, I was nervous that the storyline wouldn't really be my thing. But I was so wrong and I just loved it. Viktor was amazing, and he's definitely one of my favorite heroes! He's intelligent, and protective and totally alpha at times. But other times he's unsure of himself, and those little bouts of doubt really made me fall for him.

Dominique was fantastic too. I loved how Dominique had worked so hard to overcome her past. And I loved how she was able to separate Viktor with her horrible past. It was difficult for her, and I admired her for not blaming Viktor for what his father did to her family. Viktor and Dominique were so perfect for each other. I loved them together so much, it was crazy!

If you enjoy quick, fast-paced romantic suspense with great heroes and heroines, you have to give this series a try. Love Thy Enemy by Katie Reus is one of the best. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

Love Thy Enemy is the 13th book in the Redstone Security series. And although it's Viktor and Dominique's story, the secondary story of Abram and Lucy is what I really enjoyed about the book.
The Ivanov brothers are ruthless and rich and someone is trying to take Viktor out, and doesn't care about who gets hurt or killed in the process. Falling for Dominique seems to be easier than keeping her alive but Viktor will do anything to keep her from being hurt again. Abram and Lucy have been fighting their attraction to each other for months and it finally comes to a head in an explosive way. Hopefully the Ivanov brothers will be featured an future book because they are forces to be reckoned with.
