Jacinda... we didn't deserve you. This unexpected look behind the curtain will embolden so many people to persevere through their imposter syndrome and anxieties. I already knew the events that happened, this was like getting the gossip behind them.

I have to understand that this is written from the lens of a Labour party member and by someone to solidify their legacy. But fucking hell, this isn't an objective political tale. It is a raw story of self-doubt, examination of values, religion, pain, feminism, classism, terrorism, racism, and women in politics. This is bound to win some sort of feminism book award.

As someone who reads A LOT about feminism... this is a modern miracle.

Really makes you re examine the utter fuckery of the three headed taniwha.

Moving account of Jacinda Ardern’s life in politics. I was moved by how she handled the big difficulties she faced in office—the Christchurch terrorist attack, the pandemic—as well as how she treated everyone with compassion. Interesting to read about a political system that requires coalition-building.
