Reread. I love this book. It’s one of my favourites of all time and makes me slightly mourn the death of the marriage plot, only because this may be the sole thing restoring my faith in true love currently.

did not love this as much as i hoped i would... though the settings and ideas were interesting to me while reading and i enjoyed thinking about the place of this novel at its time of publication. some of the characters were fascinating, but margaret really didn't do much for me and i didn't dig her arc. for me, much of this book was a mess - though, i am glad to have read it.

Very much like Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice but this has more appeal for modern fans of literature. The characters in this novel have much greater concerns in life other than inheritance legislation, poverty and industrial concerns as well blooming romances occur in these pages, and as such the reader is much more effected.
I'm left feeling deeply unsatisfied after finishing this! There was SO much build up and SO much going back and forth, that when the conclusion finally came, it just wasn't enough! Mr. John Thornton, however, is a new favorite of mine. I may even love him more than Mr. Rochester!
