Apparently, this conception of Mycroft Holmes is not only smarter than Sherlock, he is more of a "man's man" and secret agent than James Bond. I had to look at it almost as a satire, even though I don't think it was meant to be. As long as you are willing to suspend a whole heck of a lot of disbelief, it's a fun romp.

Mycroft Holmes, in this original story in graphic novel form, is a smug little sh*t. I love him.

He's not quite the same character as in the mystery novel [b:Mycroft Holmes|24458231|Mycroft Holmes|Kareem Abdul-Jabbar|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1441239436s/24458231.jpg|44050784] - he has a different back story with a different fiancee - but he's still his annoyingly superior, know-it-all self, and he's still quite competitive with little brother Sherlock.

This is an all-new adventure involving a cache of sci-fi weapons and an evil plan to auction them off to the highest bidder. Queen Victoria wants to be the highest bidder so the British Empire knows these steampunk weapons of mass destruction are in safe hands, and Mycroft has passed enough of her tests to become her agent.

In this he's assisted by Lark Adler, an American bounty hunter. Is she related to Irene? An older cousin, perhaps? We don't know. There is also mention of a respectable maths professor named James Moriarty.

I don't know if any more comics have been written in this series, but these five issues make for one intriguing graphic novel. The art is eye-popping and the story is fast-paced. This is a fine entry into the world of Holmesiana.

Fun twist on the Mycroft Holmes character, here as a young man. Disappointed in how man-centric it was, even though there was potential in the Miss Adler character for so much more. Pulling in devices from other period stories might bring me back for more when the next volume is released.

4/5 amusing story, steampunk-Holmes universe. Mycroft is an interesting character, but a little too much over-sexed rogue (to contrast Sherlock’s almost asexuality) for my liking.

A wild west adventure featuring the less featured Holmes brother, Mycroft.

Two things drew me to this book: the author (I had no idea he wrote fiction; no idea who the other author was) and the title (always been a fan of the Holmes bros). The beginning was very entertaining such that I started to forget who wrote it and just enjoyed the prose. The middle fumbled and by the end I just wanted to get through it.
