I pride myself on finishing the books I start, but I couldn’t finish this!!!

I was so excited to read this book. It sounded like the movie The Holiday with an additional main character. That was not the case. This is the most convoluted plot. Unless you are taking copious amounts of notes, you will not be able to keep up with what is happening.

My biggest complaint is that there are far too many characters. That in and of itself would not be a problem, but their lives are intertwined in a way that makes keeping up super difficult. The three main women are friends from three different continents, who in a previous book switched houses for Christmas. This book picks up where the first one left off, but not all of the women went back to their original lives. One is dating a brother, one stayed in a different country, one became famous? I honestly don’t know.

What this really boils down to is bad writing. The author was unable to differentiate the characters in a way that makes sense for her reader. This is a direct result of very little or no character development.

If you take anything away from this review, please take that I would not recommend reading this book.

Special thanks to NetGalley.com and Harper Collins UK One More Chapter for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

A very cute, Hallmark feel, Christmas book.
Friends together for a holiday, some drama thrown in, and lots of Christmas fun. 3.5-4 stars for me

this book is very confusing. I have read the 1st in the series but this one all 3 couples get together for 1 holiday and you spend alot of time trying to figure out which one of the couples the person belongs to they also introduce new characters and its just alot. so I stopped reading about a week ago and have finished 4 books in that time and i was stuck at 45% for almost 2 weeks .
Thanks yo NetGalley for my copy but not for me this one.

The Christmas Trip

Lucy, Jules and Chole are friends but live in a world apart. All the ladies plans are change for this holiday season luck be had it they are all heading for the same destination. A very easy read which deals with real life issues. I adore the way the ladies friendsip is explored.

First of all, I was really excited to get back to these characters that I met a couple years back! The Christmas Swap is one of my faves and I loved it so much. I enjoyed The Christmas Trip, seeing the girls, getting back into the groove of the three of them, and seeing them with their partners a little ways in!

I did not love this one as much, though. I found it a bit hard to get into at first. The first 1/3 or so I wasn’t super into it, but the last 2/3 I found much more enjoyable. Sometimes felt a little too dramatic.

This book made me realize I would not want a tropical Christmas ever, but it was super fun to see how they did things up and some different traditions! I am very much of the Lucy mindset and need snow with my Santa and holiday cheer!

It’s a cute story and a fun follow-up, so if you read the first one be sure to give this one a try!

Thank you to One More Chapter, Sandy Barker and NetGalley for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review!

Plot: Lucy, Chloe and Jules have been best friends for many years and after a successful Christmas swap last year (This is a sequel to the Christmas Swap!) decide to spend their Christmas and new year in Hawaii all together. What should have been a peaceful holiday turns into chaos involving uninvited guests and the paparazzi on their doorstep.

Review: Having read The Christmas Swap last year and loving it, I knew I had to read this sequel. It was great to be back in the world of Lucy, Chloe and Jules. It didnt disappoint and was a very engaging story. I love the characters and how different they are but are still amazing best friends. This is definitely get you in the festive spirit. I loved it.

Best friends Chloe, Jules and Lucy are all loved up but living worlds apart. Chloe is madly in love with her celebrity beau, Archer, but after a whirlwind year in Hollywood’s limelight, she’s desperate to get away and spend some quality time together.

Jules loves her Melbourne life – and gorgeous winemaker Matt – but a crowded flat share has her longing for a place of her own. Meanwhile, Lucy is stuck in a long distance relationship, jetting back and forth between Colorado and London to see Will.

When Archer’s plan to whisk Chloe to Paris goes awry, he surprises her by bringing her friends together for a Christmas to remember…

Sadly, the luxurious surounds can't mask the problems that each of the friends has. A book about realising that where you are is not as important as who you are with and why you are with them.

This is a sequel, however I am yet to read the first one and didn't have any issues in keeping up with the plot.

A quick, fun Christmas read, a great way to spend an hour or two.

Thank you to @netgalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
