Some good stuff in here but went through this rather quickly. Would be better to read as daily reflections and chew on it a bit more.
Moderate: Suicide
Minor: Eating disorder

I've never read a Buechner book where I haven't felt like he was talking right to me. His style effortlessly conveys his brilliant ideas and experiences gently to the reader, giving them space to connect them to their own life. Something about his writing strikes a chord in me that no other author has so far. I enjoy every page of his books, mmm-ing and underlining constantly as I read, and this was no exception.

This book was so good. So good and so needed. I think I love Frederick Buechner.

Beautiful style, perhaps disjointed overall. Intrigued to read more of his writings.

There's a line in this book that I think completely sums up what it is:
"You had to pretty much speak what sounded at least perhaps as the truth, if only the truth of your own feelings about religious matters. It was a wonderful thing"
I think Frederick Buechner is author I never knew I was missing. And this book is the start of a wonderful journey that I cannot wait to take.
