Una vez más, Casey McQuiston superó mis expectativas. Expectativas que ya estaban altas porque tras leer (en inglés) sus otros dos libros y amarlos, fueron superadas.
Necesito decirlo: CASEY MCQUISTON, AUTORE DE LA DÉCADA.

I'm not sure if I've read a book with such a diverse cast before. If so, this one is still pretty high up there. Gay men, lesbians, at least one bisexual and pansexual person each, at least one trans person, multiple drag queens, mentions of non-binary people and gender non-conformity in general, lots of POC. All-in-all, that aspect of the book is fantastic. While the romance is a major point of the book, it didn't feel like THE focal point, which I enjoyed. I would say that, really, this book was about finding yourself, finding a place to belong, and found family. Equal parts sad and inspiring. I don't have much of anything negative to say about this book. I suppose the pacing felt odd in some places, but that could be because I had to return it mid-read due to holds, and wait to finish it. All-in-all, very worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book. I will admit it dragged a little towards the middle but it gripped me again shortly after and I raced to finish it.

This was really easy to read and really engaging, and the magical/sci-fi realism was well done and enjoyable.

I feel like the main theme in this book is love: love of a person, a place, of yourself, family & friends. There’s so much love in the friendships August makes and I adore the people she spends her time with in NYC. The love for NYC is wonderful too. This community and the community in Billy’s diner too. How everyone bands together. The love within the queer community too and unquestioned acceptance of each other as well as the supernatural elements was great.

I think identity, relationships, family, love & loss were all approached really well. The characters were fantastic and I could totally read a spin off book on any of them.

I thought parts of the plot were predictable but I didn’t mind one bit.

Super queer, super loveable, fun and a wild ride.

Okay I really loved this book

It was incredibly tender and sweet. A slowburn, gorgeously written epic-romance, and damn I have never believed in soulmates more

McQuiston has a way of making a story both simple and complicated and just so real. I loved RW&RB because I could escape into this other world where life changing politics and romances were possible, but I loved this book because it was so genuine. Despite the sci-fi element, it was so grounded in real emotions and experiences and reactions and relationships and found family that just seemed true and relatable and cathartic and I’m so jealous of anyone who gets to read this book for the first time

It was weirdly healing, and just gahhh

There are also a number of topics tackled realistically but in a gentle way that, despite the historical (and residual and current) trauma, are handled carefully and in a way that leaves you optimistic. Within this, I would note CWs for homophobia, hate crimes, racism, and fire injury/death

Finally, the secondary characters are so vibrant and well fleshed out and queer and just wonderful. I love the community they form and their relationship to our protagonist but also to so many other people and places, and they really do add to the story and the warm feeling you get every time you pick it up

Basically, please read this book. It’s the epic sapphic romance we all deserve, and I can’t wait to read more from McQuiston in the future

This has immediately shot to the position of one of my favourite books of the year. I completely fell in love with this slightly-worn-at-the-edges Brooklyn apartment building full of wonderful misfits, and the family that August finds in New York.

August's back story is intriguing and really builds her character brilliantly, while the mystery of Jane plays to her natural curiosity and had me flying through the pages. I was desperate to solve all of the puzzles that manifest in the story, and delighted every time a piece slipped into place.

The writing is so light and easy, but also brilliant, poetic and funny. I adore McQuiston's way with words and how she just pulls you utterly into her stories. And one of my favourite things about this (and Red, White and Royal Blue) is the way she describes falling in love. But love of any kind; in One Last Stop, the way August finally finds her tribe is just as beautiful as the incredible desire she feels for Jane. And for all of it we are right beside her, feeling it all and loving August and every character all the more for it.

I think I preferred this to Red, White and Royal Blue because rather than just great characters and a great story, it was the entire world I adored. Don't get me wrong, they're both AMAZING, but something about the joy and the longing and the hope and the ridiculous amount of cool in One Last Stop just got under my skin and settled there.

Okay! Where to start? This book was absolutely amazing. I felt so connected and in love with the characters so quickly. It had that sense of having a blanket wrapped around you. It made me feel happy and sad all the same. Every time Myla talked I swear I was laughing. Niko made me felt safe. Wes made me irritated in a 'I want the best for you' way. August made me feel seen. Jane made me feel protected. Every character made me feel something. Once I started reading and had no interruptions, there was no stopping me in reading this. It kept me interested from start to finish. I also loved that the main character was chubby. It made me so happy to see her body praised and appreciated by someone. To have someone see a chubby girl and still see her as a goddess. Absolutely adored this book. Definitely a new favorite!
