I liked the overall story though I felt like it dragged on at some points. For example there was quite a bit of time spent explaining *why* Jane was trapped when I felt like that didn't really need to be explained (and ultimately was like ' we'll this is a wild guess anyway'). Also while I admire the authors dedication to showcasing the beauty of queer spaces, community friendships etc at times it felt like I was reading two different stories almost? Like we get a long scene at an event before ping ponging back to the plot of Jane being stuck on a train. This more of a personal gripe since I prefer a tighter plot driven stories- anyone who enjoys character interaction deep dives will enjoy that more.

This book is aggressively queer in the best way; there is a love letter here to the community that springs up wherever it can grow, whether through kindness or adversity, and it's amazing to see. The characters are grounded and real despite the time travel aspect, and it doesn't shy away from the consequences of that either. I normally find romance novels of this length to be a bit much, but I tore through this book and despite the satisfying epilogue still found myself with post-novel depression. An absolute must-read for queer romance, honestly.
