My score is purely from the fact that while I enjoyed this book I’d probably never want to read it again so I don’t know if it deserves a four star. I will say if you like sapphic AND “magical realism” it is a 4 star romance!

you can set a book up to succeed, but if the pace and writing and plot don’t match up, then i can’t enjoy it. it felt like this book was dragging for the first 300 pages and i just wanted to finish it to finish it. i’ve never DNF a book but i was close. love her other book, but this wasn’t for me unfortunately.
