Come for the L, stay for the BTQ+.

For real, I thought the side characters were a bit more interesting than the main characters

A New Girl vibe + A Schitt's Creek cast + Lesbians = one happy reader. I grinned, giggled, laughed out loud, and stifled reactions in public because of this book. I felt some type of way about reading certain scenes at work and kept reading anyway because I was not hitting pause on this story for love or money. Pancake Billy's House of Pancakes was a magical setting with a feeling that I can only dream of transposing onto my own stories, and the characters were either helplessly lovable or comically despisable.
The ending felt a bit self-indulgent, but I'm willing to let that slide because of how enjoyable the whole reading experience was.
This was an incredible world to get lost in, especially during Pride month. I'm glad to have spent time in it.

went into it blind, found myself pleasantly surprised. didn’t expect the sci-fi elements and i really did enjoy them, though i thought they could’ve benefitted from more explanation. i also think august should have faced more realistic consequences for her actions. even if things get patched up quickly, some consequences would be better than no consequences at all.

overall, i enjoyed the characters and the plot, wanted to know how it ended, and wanted everyone to get a happy ending, which is really what i wanted to get out of it, so i’m pleased!

bonus points for almost everyone actually getting a happy ending!
