What an excellent book. I learned way more than I thought I would! The author does a great job of storytelling and I really feel like I have a much deeper understanding of how trans and nonbinary experiences can be after reading. I think everyone would benefit from reading this! Honestly it is way more tame than I thought it would be considering how controversial and banned it is. Hats off to the author for putting it out there, what a brave thing to do. I feel grateful for the reading experience!
Graphic: Dysphoria
Moderate: Blood
Minor: Excrement, Vomit, Medical content, Transphobia, Gaslighting, Medical trauma, and Sexual content

A reread but this time in audio. I wasn’t sure how to take a graphic novel into audio but this was incredibly well done. A full cast and additional sound effects help round out the story being told with words.
Thank you to Libro.fm and Penguin Random House Audio for the book.

I'm really not sure why I've waited so long to read this one. It's been on my TBR forever and I finally decided to just pick it up on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. Graphic memoirs are a newfound love for me and this one is no exception.
Maia explores eir journey on discovering eir gender and sexuality in ways that are both heartbreaking and affirming. As a queer person myself, this one really resonated with me even though I don't experience the exact same things that e does. This one is one of my favorite queer graphic memoirs and probably will be for a long time.
