Finished Ruby Red 7/23/22. I would give it 2 stars. I’m not crazy about the characters, there’s zero depth to them and no growth. Their actions made no sense because one moment two people would hate each other or barely tolerate being around one another and the next moment they’re kissing. I wasn’t buying into their story. Ruby Red had 322 pages and no questions were answered. All of the mysteries around the Guardians and time travel weren’t expanded upon. There wasn’t any world building either.

Finished Sapphire Blue 7/31/22. 1 star rating. It’s incredible that of the 676 pages into this trilogy we still aren’t given any answers to the initial questions/mysteries from the first book. I finished Sapphire Blue and had to take time to think if anything in the story progressed at all. The answer would be no. The characters did not grow at all, the plot stayed stagnant, and no answers were given. I don’t know how I missed this but I guess this trilogy was originally written in German and was translated. I can only hope that the story lost some quality in its translation otherwise I don’t know how this could be considered such a highly rated trilogy. The MC is so unlikeable I can hardly get through the narration and the love interest is just

These three books have made my 6th grade heaven on earth. Ever since I first started reading Ruby Red I fell in love with the characters and the plot of the series. All through Gwyneth's ( or Gwendolyn in my language translation) adventures I felt like I was truly there with her. It was exceptional and I absolutely loved it.

Starts of strong in the first book, get's even better in with the second, and then came the third... I'm sad to say the last book dissapointed me. Unfortunately it felt somewhat like a filler with not as much everyday humor and bredcrums as the other two. I would have liked something more than just the expanation to all of the questions the other two books left hanging.
This storyline might even have had the possibility to become maybe four or five books in sted of just Three!

I reread the all three books but because they were such fast reads I didn´t want to add them individually to my reading challenge. The story is very fun and light, everything happens in the span of just over a week and therefore the love story might seem super fast and some things don´t get explained in detail but I didn´t really mind. And of course, there is a huge nostalgia factor whenever I reread this series. I'm happy to have them all on my shelves!
