Ok I’m going to start that this story is not what I was expecting. Well I actually don’t know what exactly I was expecting going into this book, but it wasn’t anything like what I got, because what I got was so much more than I could think.

Sydney has been listening to this guy from her balcony for a few weeks as he plays his guitar on his own balcony across the courtyard. She finds herself watching him and making up lyrics to his song and he’s been watching her too and has noticed her singing along to his songs that don’t yet have lyrics. This is convenient for him because he’s recently been suffering writer’s block and has been unable to come up with any lyrics. I will not go in more details because this is just the beginning of this love story but I will say, I cried a lot while reading it.

I loved the use of music in this book and I recommend getting the song and listen to as the same that they are writing them in the book. You can find them under Griffin Peterson Maybe someday. The experience is going to be much better.

I really enjoyed this book. The love and the angst between Ridge and Sydney was palpable. I do think both characters were a bit extreme in their loyalties. I'm not sure how anyone would really handle the same situation, but I don't think it would be as nicely resolved as this was. Everytime I read a book by this author, I wind up staying up all night reading because I can't put her stories down.

"Desire is easy to fight. Especially when the only weapon desire possesses is attraction. It’s not so easy when you’re trying to win a war against the heart."

this was really good. I love the connection between the two main characters and the loyal that they shared with their friends.

I have a lot of issues with this book. The majority of this book is glorified cheating. At best—emotional cheating. The main characters just existed in the context of their situation and there wasn’t any background development to who they are outside of their relationship. We hear about Sydney’s parents and law school and then that dies and nothing comes of it. This didn’t really have the traditional Colleen Hoover twist at the end but I think this was one of her older books. This book also dragged on soooo long- the build up to the end was so boring. The cheating piece at the beginning was just forgotten about after a little while and Hunter and Tori’s character basically disappeared.

I enjoyed the playlist that came with the book! This was a really cool idea from Colleen that helped bring life to the music. I also liked the disability awareness that came with two of the main characters being deaf. I thought that was really representative as well.
