Helt klart en trevlig liten historia men den hinner inte utvecklas ordentligt och jag har ingen koppling till eller något direkt intresse för magic-universumet. Hade mycket hellre sett att Sanderson skrev klart wax and wayne.
I will probably never play the game, but I appreciate that it allowed this short book to be written, and being free is always good! Although it's only just over 100 pages I feel like the world was well explained and the characters were great together with the slight oddness that I have come to love.
I mean it's Sanderson so you can assume it think it's great. I honestly thought it should have been longer. Not just because I liked it so much but also because it wrapped it quick... With some loose ends purposely untied.
I know little to nothing about Magic The Gathering but I didn't get lost in the lore. So don't worry about that.

'It was so hard to find warmth in the darkness. But when the night grew cold and the darkness came for you, that was when you needed to light a fire.
And make your own light.'

Best when the plot kicked through the 2nd half of the book, otherwise a bit of a bog to read.
An excellent standalone epic fantasy novella with a ton of magic, action, and interesting characters. If you're a fan of Magic: the Gathering, that's just gravy on top--no knowledge of the game is necessary (no interest in playing it, either.) Very satisfying.

This is how you write a short mystery. I don't really fully like the way Sanderdon writes dialogue, but it serves a purpose and compliments his worldbuilding and control over magic systems.
Everything in Children of the Nameless just works, like a well tuned machine, and it shows how much Sanderson loves Magic The Gathering. Enough to make the its lore and Planeswalkers understandable and enjoyable to people with no prior knowledge of the setting.

Nice, light and quick read. Good pace. As usual, love the banter.
I liked this story quite a lot, independent of the MtG setting. It made me wish that Brandon had the time to go back to the world of Silence more than anything else.
Good story; I recommend reading it even if (like me), you're not much of a Magic person. The story is written in a way that you don't need to know too much.
