By far the worst of the series. So very disappointing.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow at first, and I was thoroughly creeped out by the hag with the sewn-shut mouth. BUT! I felt like there should have been some clarification on whether or not this was officially a part of The Sword of Truth series. CONFESSOR should have finished it, but somehow this gets a SOT #12 line-up. It felt like this un-did the end of the series, and the ending to this book was clearly not an ending, which was unsettling since Goodkind usually likes to wrap up his stories in neat little packages in the last few chapters. Hopefully there's something coming after this book that will expand on this story, or clean up the loose ends. I look forward to finding out!

I love the Sword of Truth series. I don't think Goodkind is capable of writing crap, but even if he did, I think I would just keep reading this series because I love the characters and the world so much. Goodkind always seem to have new plot twist up his sleeve which I really appreciate.

Slow start, and you stay confused until the end in true Goodkind fashion. But the main mystery of the book is never explained, and the "bad guy" is never apprehended. Killer ending, mildly disappointing. Oh well, guess the next one will tell more. I hope.

The chapters were too short and made the book feel clunky.
But the plot, my friends, was worth it.
Good twists and suspense.
Left off on a bit of a cliffhanger though

I could not finish this book. I loved all the others in the series but this book did not flow as well. It was not an enjoyable read at all.

I didn't hate this book, but I wasn't compelled to read it either. The newly minted leader of the realm, Richard receives some omens from non-wizards and then he discovers a kind of cool steampunk computer in the castle that has a connection to these weird prophecies, and to the fate of his wife, Kahlan.
