Really liked reading this book in original writing. It's fun to see how different Austrian German from 50y ago can be to modern Germany German!
I didn't know anything about the story, and I was thrilled to discover the encased tales. I liked the narrator's voice.

Ich hatte das Buch gekauft, ohne großartige Intention es zeitnah zu lesen. Jetzt hatte ich aber irgendwie Lust darauf bekommen, und es hat mich zugegebenermaßen positiv überrascht. Soviel über Schach weiß ich ehrlich gesagt nicht, aber die Erzählstimme hat mich direkt gepackt und in diese kurze Geschichte gesogen. Das diese Schachfanatik dann auch noch mit Geschichte verwoben wird und dadurch einen viel eindringlicheren Ton vorbringt, fand ich gewaltig. Ich denke daher schon, dass diese Novelle für jeden etwas ist, wenn man was über Schach weiß, umso besser. Sie hat mich auf jeden Fall zum nachdenken angeregt und wird mich bestimmt noch ein Weilchen begleiten.
