This was the perfect mix of creepy and intriguing, the writing does a wonderful job at delivering these feelings. The story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille really kept me on edge and intrigued throughout. The reasoning behind his actions and motives really added to the depth of his character. I enjoyed this story, and I really do recommend it.

This is a very disturbing book, and you have to be ready to hate the main character. The historical setting as well as the description of the smells make for a very intense and original reading experience.

Bizarre, étrange, Le Parfum est un livre qui met mal à l'aise. Quelque chose que l'on a rarement l'occasion de rencontrer dans les livres. On y suit l'histoire de Jean Baptiste Grenouille, un génie du parfum doté d'un sens de l'odorat incroyable. Ce don le portera pourtant à se comporter plus comme une bête que comme un humain, jusqu'à commettre l'impardonnable. 
Patrick Süskind possède en tous cas un don exceptionnel pour vous faire sentir les odeurs à travers les mots. On se surprend même à prêter un peu plus attention à ce sens pendant la lecture de ce livre.
