Dark, witty, ominous, twisted, and absolutely hilarious!

This was most definitely giving me Agatha Christie meets Arsenic and Old Lace vibes and I loved every moment of it. I do have to say that this was tad slow and there were romantic bits that didn't feel necessary to me, but what made up for that was that this was an amazingly entertaining read. I fell in love all 7 of these viciously twisted girls and was sad that this came to an end. This is also a murder mystery and I thought that part of the book was executed magnificently. I did not see any of that coming. If you've been meaning to pick this up, please do so and I'd highly recommend reading both the audio book and the physical copy at the same time like I did. It made the reading experience 10x better. Jayne Entwistle was the perfect narrator for this book. :) - Richard

This was the best audiobook I have ever listened to. The performance was perfection- the voices!!! I loved the characters- Dour Eleanor was my favorite. I wish I was part of the Sisterhood. :)

The mystery was great- seeing the girls unfold it throughout the story was a treat.

Seven girls who are the only students at a boarding school in a woman's house in 1890s England decide they don't want to have to go home their unappreciative families so despite some moral misgivings, they cover up what appear to be the murders via poison of their headmistress and her odious brother. Their charade and web of lies continues to become more complicated and precarious as various people appear wanting to talk with their headmistress, including the town physician, the live-out housekeeper, and a new constable (policeman). Recommended for readers 11+, especially those who are fans of Downton Abbey or who enjoyed easier mysteries when younger.

This was a fun, middle reader romp through Victorian England. The seven female students of a small, questionable boarding school are surprised at dinner one night when the headmistress and her brother drop dead at the table. The girls embark on a challenging, and ultimately bonding, charade to stay at school and solve the mysterious deaths. Quirky and funny.

This felt a lot like the Miss Marple mysteries to me, with it's victorian setting and mention of the Indian "colonies". I enjoyed getting to know each of the sisterhood, although some were developed more fully than others. The mystery was good, the ending made sense, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story itself. This skews a little young for YA, even with the murder and all.

This is a very silly story about young girls at a private school whose matron dies at the dinner table. The girls suspect poison, and decide if they can pretend she's still alive they can figure out who did it. The story is so ridiculous, it's actually pretty funny. The end has a pretty decent unsuspecting twist.
