After reading the three novels in the Fangborn series, I was happy to find that there are also three stories about the Fangborn that add background to the adventures of Zoe Miller.
"The Serpent's Tale" is part mystery and part Fangborn history. As in the novels, the characters are very relatable. Through their story and dialog, we learn a bit about Fangborn physiology, and about how they fulfill their calling. Despite being set in 13th century England, we find that the evil Zoe faced was a force with which to be reckoned even then.
I truly hope that over time Dana Cameron will be moved to take us back in history again and again. The world of the Fangborn is truly fascinating.
