honestly a very fabulous book. despite the world being a very confusing one to get into the characters are superb and i love how each and every character had their own unique and special personality. every character brought something new to the table and they were all good at something making all their pov's special. i didn't find myself to be board at all while reading this book and yes it did take me a while to get into it i wasn't board more so just trying to understand the world and how the logic works and the powers of this world. but the world building was done so good as i was able to picture all the scenes and were the characters were travelling to. i loved the plot and how many mic drop moments there were. whenever you think you know the storyline something would happen and the storyline would follow another path and change complete direction. i loved that six of crows kept me on my toes and i found that the fantasy was very strong in six of crows making it a whole nother level of being better. it was a solid 4.75 star read and i cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I read this ages ago too so I need to refresh my memory by a reread and I need to read the 2nd one but TL;DR of it is: it’s addicting to read the beginning was too exposition heavy for my liking. It was unbearable to read. The story took way too long to get started with the setup amounting to basically nothing. After this the story reaches a good high and lowers back down to a nice pace though.
I loved Wylan but I wish his romance with Jesper didn’t read like a yaoi. The romance in general doesn’t do it for me honestly Nina and Inej should have just gotten together instead of bum ass MATTHIAS whose chapters were especially boring and consisted of him saying the same 3 things over and over again. You could pretend who would end up with who but not in a good way.
My favourite moments were the characters sitting around doing nothing the establishment of dynamics was done particularly well but I do wish characters were explored as friendships more. Seeing a dyslexic character in fantasy was also especially refreshing but having him have no POV chapters kind of made him feel unimportant as whatever would happen with him would always be pushed back to focus on another person.
Also, why does fantasy always make it so that regions are always based off real life areas and racism is real life ethnicities? Like yass fantasy Scandinavian is racist to fantasy Roma written by a white author? It’s so over
Overall, liked but didn’t love.
