Obsessed. Read it in 12 hours. Fell in love several times. Many feels - in fact, ALL the feels.
Thoroughly enjoyed this as an audiobook! 1000 times better and more interesting than Shadow and Bone!

I have no words for how good six of crows is and how much better it is than the tv series. I started the show first and thought Jesper was my favorite, then I read the book and realized these characters are written so well I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite. Their backstories are so incredibly devastating and well thought out. Do I think this book might have been written as adult fiction then changed to YA after the fact? Possibly, yes. Some of it was so gruesome it made my stomach turn, but not in an overly gory, unnecessary way. The show truly does not do this book justice.
love the suspense! i was expecting a classing YA adventure with a dash of romance, but oh man, what i got is actually a full-on universe?? like? it's so good i jumped into book 2 right away. it's really good, even better than shadow and bone trilogy honestly. so yeah, 5 stars from me.
I liked the diversity of the crew, though they felt a little too neatly put together. Two couples, and an implied one. This book has been rated highly but other than the humor I really don't get the high praise. Both named female characters are have love interests as one of their main arcs. Everything else is dominated by male characters. Many of the characters fit into archetypes that aren't very unique. The cold, calculating leader with a sob story past, his right hand man that hes in love with, the flirty maiden, the black knight, etc.
The plot itself, along with the twists and backstabs felt too predictable to the point where I didn't really feel like they were in danger at all. For a "dark" story it felt too nice.
The best thing though, was the dialogue. Bardugo is good with making her characters witty and having good comeback lines. However it felt like they all had the same sense of humor and all their jokes seemed to similar to each other.
Still it was a good book. It was a good adventure though the ending was a little lackluster and cliche.

I loved this. Each character was so complex and different and they were really cool in their own way. I cant wait to read the next book.
I didn’t expect it to end on a cliff hanger like that. I really liked the found family aspect.
