beautiful prose that adorned very interesting intellectual (emotional, sexual) questions, that contrasted with the stifling background of Japanese tradition and war
I love this type of writing: where I'm completely inside the protagonist's head, and I feel like I'm being indulged with a story that they desperately want to tell!

it ended very suddenly, i was expecting like 40 more pages or so but oh well. i think i definitely need tor read it a second or third time to actually grasp everything that's being said because it's a LOT. especially since i relate to so many things that yukio discusses in this. it was a pretty enjoyable story and it made me feel very seen and understood.
