I'm such a huge fan of A.L. Jackson! Truly. Her books are something else, and I'm becoming obsessed with the Time River series. You're looking for a small-town romance exceptionally executed? Then look no further, this book is it. Time River series is it. A.L. Jackson is it.

I'm totally and completely head over hills for Ryder and Dakota, and actually all the characters in the book. Lord, was their story a wild emotional ride.

Dakota is the strongest single mom to the sweetest and cutest little boy named Kayden. She's a phenomenal baker and an owner of a delicious restaurant and café; she is tough, brave, and an amazing human being. I love all the incredible people she has in her life, including Ryder - someone she's been pining for for practically forever, even when she knows she shouldn't.

Ryder is Dakota's brother's best friend, and since a very young age they were a constant in each other's lives. I loved reading all the cute moments from their childhood, specially all the times Dakota baked cookies for him and their sweetest interactions.

Ryder has been in love with Dakota since forever and there's nothing he wanted more than to spend the rest of his life with her. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Ryder had to do everything in his power to make sure he stayed away from her instead. But can he avoid crossing this line?

I loved every second and every interaction between Ryder and Dakota. And Ryder and Kayden? My poor heart struggled a lot trying to handle all the cuteness and love surrounding them. 🥹
It's evident right from the start the strong attraction the main characters share. Their chemistry and connection are undeniable, and the love they have for each other is the kind of love one would wish upon a star for.

Their sweet and cute moments are everything. Their hot moments are everything. God, Ryder and Dakota are something else. There's true fire between them; their tease is incredible - whenever Ryder pushed Dakota's buttons, Dakota didn't hold back in response and when I tell you it was burning hot, trust me that it was burning hot. 🔥🔥🔥
All the steamy scenes are just wow, wow, wow, WOW!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Oh, oh! And the MC is pierced. Just, you know, leaving it here. 😏

This book is so well-written and detailed, once you open its first page you won't be able to put it down until you reach that "The End". It's a great small-town romance but add a bit of suspense and mystery to it and believe me when I say the story will leave you gasping. 🤯 The plot and the twists are fantastic and I definitely didn't see them coming and loved every second of it. Even though it did keep on edge for a while. 🤪

I loved this book and I so cannot wait for what the author has prepared for us next!

Thank you so much Valentine PR and A.L. Jackson for the ARC of this book! 💖

3.75 ⭐️ I enjoyed this book and series. I’m a sucker for a brother’s best friend story, and Ryder and Dakota’s was a sweet story of young, seemingly unrequited love. But, he showed up for her throughout her whole life in the best ways, and the only ways he could without putting her in harms way. The overall plot was good too and that twist regarding Kayden’s paternity had me probably more surprised than I should have been.

Honestly, I felt like deducting stars just for the corny nicknames though. I cringed everytime Ryder called her “Cookie.” That said, I’d still recommend this book and the series and would read any future books returning to Time River.
