A lot of this wasn’t new to me, but it was all great!

I listened to this as that was the only format available at my library, but it's the kind of book I prefer to read and refer back to. Again Miller, along with her co-author, creates a compelling case for allowing children choice in what they read and ample time to read it.

Donalyn Miller is my reading guru. Teri Lesense is a close second. Pairing them together on a book about how to get students to love reading is a hit! This book talks about the need for joy in reading and how that joy will help students become lifelong readers. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

This one gave me lots to think about with how I can model from my library role for the less experienced teachers at my school. I loved the book stacks and practical ideas. The Appendices were great resources as well.

This book was a great discussion on how to help kids love reading and how to talk about reading. I wanted more, much more, but this was a good primer that may lead me to reading more of her works to get more ideas.
