i miss avonlea :((

loved diving back into the world of anne and her adventures, filled with beauty and hope, though i did miss seeing more of the recurrent characters and some adventures seemed a bit repetitive. i was always so sure of being just like anne, but this book made me (painfully) realize that katherine brooks and i are actually the same.

it amazes me how the writer keep making me cry in every book of hers.
This one was good brk. i didn't enjoy it at the beginning for i felt Anne is no longer fun and she is turning to that nosy woman, but then everyone in Windy Poplars loved her and i couldn't dislike her. so i decided to see things from a positive point of view. She was so helpful, and caring. she is such a sweetheart and i wish i had her in my life. (i guess i already do).
In this one, Anne sends Gilbert letters telling him all about her adventures for the 3 years she passed in WP.

In the fourth book, Anne is now a principal and a teacher in highschool in Summerside while she is egaged to Gilbert. The book narrates their letters and how rough it is for him to make a career. Anne lived at a home called Windy Poplars that belongs to the Aunts Chatty and Kate and their house-keeper, Rebicca Dew. And as we all know her, she so excited to live there. Besides the story of the two widows, there is the neighbor, Elizabeth. Elizabeth has been left by her father to be raised by her grandmother. There is also the Pringle family that hated Anne Shirley and would do all it takes to make her leave the school. But Anne, with her good heart, continues to live her life with as much happiness and good things to do as she can. She brings her unpopular comrade teacher out of her shell. Saves several marriages from the danger of not happening.

Althought this book is perfectly in keeping with the other Anne of Green Gables books, but I must say I hated few things about. For example, we see very little of the Avonlea characters and Gilbert too. Most of the book is written in form of Anne’s letters. But despite all this, it was good to see the real mature Anne Shirley and even getting into a scrape or two.
