This was my first Elizabeth Strout book and I heard her newest book was a good place to start. I think this may be a 4.25-4.5 star book for me! It features many of her characters and I fell in love with all of them! I listened and read the book - the audiobook is wonderful.

This is a book with a lot of humanity and yet the characters did not feel like real people. However, I enjoyed the writing and the way the author could capture all sides of everything. I also appreciated how much care was given to each character — they all felt protected. The world was also vivid and easy to sink into.
