Life is still not much fun for these characters. The main ones are aged around sixty and upwards now, my age, and love in all its forms is still causing them mostly anguish. There’s a sort of bleak hope for some of them, but I didn’t get the compensating warmth that the earlier volumes left me with, that life is hard but worth it; here life is hard for almost everyone, don’t judge, but what is the point? Still, a good end, if it is the end, to the series, the author is an amazing storyteller.
I don't like the audiobook narrator and I quite dislike the personalities of some the characters.
