The fact is that the author is doing critical work in publishing this book and talking about things so many people are unwilling to examine in themselves and others, and that alone is worth 5 stars. I wish that the people who need to read this book the most, would.

At certain points, this book felt disappointing because it didn't delve too deeply into anything -- but I don't think it could have. This is such a loaded, ignored subject that no one book could even begin to scratch the surface of all of the intersecting issues at hand. I think it would be hard to read any fully satisfying book on the topic of fatness.

Beautifully written, deeply vulnerable. I wish I could convince every straight-sized person I encounter to read this book.

Covered so many of the same topics as the first season of her excellent podcast, Maintenance Phase. Excellent and powerful look at the reality of being fat and dealing with implicit and explicit antifat bias and hate and the mental and physical costs of dealing with that prejudice.

Aubrey Gordon thank you for putting this into a book. So sorely needed and thoughtful and heartbreaking. You’re a beautiful person so smart and kind and you always have the right words. A book about fat stories and facts and the justice needed in this world.

Superviktig bok, alla borde läsa!
