Read for school. God this took it out of me but I learned a ton. In a sense the Decameron is humanity explored

The premise and the frame story are much stronger than the individual stories, but there are moments I found surprisingly emotional and resonant.

I said when I put this down that It wasn't bad and I'd go back to it, but to be honest now that I'm reading some proper modern prose again, I find it hard to imagine picking it back up again. It was probably a momentous achievement, but it's just too far removed from my frame of reference for me to really enjoy. A historical artifact, of interest to scholars, methinks.
