I personally enjoy CatWoman. This was a great comic that helped to set up her story. Even though it is necessary I have a particular hatred towards superhero books where they set up the origin story and have the main character struggle with their powers. I know it is supposed to be an origin story but it just feels like there could have been something more

I enjoyed the art-style in this; however, I really cannot tell who the intended audience is? I'm not sure it's handled in the right way for teens, but it's written for teens. The story-line also does not make a whole lot of sense.

I received an ecopy of this through netgalley; however, all opinions are my own.

This was so boring. The only good thing was the art style.

'Under The Moon: A Catwoman Tale' by Lauren Myracle with art by Isaac Goodhart is a YA version of a possible Catwoman origin story. It's a pretty good read.

At 14, Selina Kyle has seen some things. She lives with her mom and her mom's series of deadbeat and often abusive boyfriends. She is a bit of a loner at school and has a crush on Bruce Wayne. They used to be friends in preschool, but drifted apart for various reasons.

When things go really south in her homelife, Selina runs away and finds herself living on the streets. She makes a series of friends who teach her skills and look out for her. When a heist involving a rare book goes wrong, Selina wants to make it right.

I really liked this version of the character. It feels authentic enough to feel like it's the same character I'm familiar with. I really liked the art with it's subdued color. This was a read I can recommend.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from DC Ink, DC Entertainment, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

I really liked this one, but I can see a lot of people not enjoying it. The ending is a bit of a letdown if you're expecting big showdowns, a battle with a villain, comeuppance for any of the awful people. It's not focused on Selina dominating the external forces in her life, but rather coming to grips with the internal ones. It's a subtler story, but I liked it and think that the creative team did an awesome job telling it. I would not have guessed this was Myracle's first foray into writing graphic novels, and usually that sort of thing is very obvious. Well done!
