4.5 stars, rounded up for Patrick Warburton's truly standout audiobook narration. And the Mountain Goats reference(!!). And the whole Notes section at the end.

You have to accept going into this that the author is going to be Clever (which you might find irritating or you might find charming or you might find somewhere in-between), because that's his thing. But while he's in the process of bedazzling you with his Cleverness, you're going to actually read this very poignant and wide-ranging book of philosophy that manages to also be pithy and thought-provoking -- yet also something I could see reading to my 6 year old?? How did he DO that?! It's only about 160 pages or 3 hours long. You should read it. I might read it again.

A very confusing book, some poems, like I ate poison for breakfast. I think I will read again later. (post stroke review)

I’m just so happy I was able to read another Lemony Snicket book for the first time again. I also wish I had just sat down and read it in one sitting, and perhaps highlighted some phrases I liked, since the whole thing was mostly about contemplating life and death and what it all means in less than 160 pages. I just love the way he writes in such a whimsical yet factual way, I giggled out loud at moments. It’s a wonderful little read <3

This book was goofy and contemplative. I enjoyed the way it made my brain think deeply about life. It inspired me to write more.
