The plot is thickening and Clare is thrown right in the middle of a mystery surrounding the Claymore organization. Also, it turns out that some Claymores are way, way less sane than others. I love where this is going.

The plot thickens! My heart was pounding with each page turn. I am rooting for Clare and the other Claymores to get out alive and solve the mystery of the organization. (You know, if they do come out alive.)

Moderate: Death
Clare is determined to kill the Voracious Eater who took Teresa from her, and is sent with a group of fellow Claymores to take down a male Voracious Eater. What’s strange, though, is she the is least powerful Claymore in The Organization. Why did she get selected for this mission as Number 47?! And when her fellow mission assignees begin talking amongst themselves, why do they all realize they have caused trouble for The Organization one way or another?! Is this a trap?!
My gosh you have to freaking disappear there Clare or else!!!
Some of them are just freaking monsters, too!!!
Some of them are just freaking monsters, too!!!
Miria, Helen, Deneve and Clare are still fighting against the male Voracious Eater and in the aftermath of the battle, they have the theory that they were sent to kill the monster without expecting them to return. All of them have “awakened”, which means they’ve used their yoma power to full extent, but somehow, they could shift back to their current state.
Still, the organization low-key treats them as expendable assets, and nothing more. They’ve been watched in case they transform themselves into female voracious eaters, and so they promise to be careful, at least until they meet again.
In the second half of the volume, Clare goes into her second mission against a Voracious Eater again, only this time, it’s only her and #3, Ophelia, a sadistic claymore that doesn’t care about saving humans nor butchering yoma, she only seeks to destroy anything that’s in front of her, and the more suffering, the more she enjoys her hunting.
Honestly, these volumes are a fast read and like I said, the art style has improved a lot (or perhaps I just got used to their faces). The ambience is top notch and the action scenes are superb! I truly have to stop myself from reading more than 2 volumes a day, I cannot believe it took me this long to get into this series!
