Okay listen I liked Sebastian a LOT in the last books and even in the beginning of this one!! But idk I don't understand why he didnt see that he was getting set up!!!!!

Like look we can use the excuse that he wasn't into all the dirty family business whatever but he should've at least suspected!!!

Ugh I don't even know what to say. I'm disappointed that Dante left them to fend for themselves but I understand not wanting to die lol but also family???? Idk that's just crazy to me bc what if Nero did get sniped??

Also also. Yelena should've let Sebastian kill her brother. I GET it but at the same time bitch I don't!!!! He obviously stopped caring about u why should u care about him? Ugh

All these books got a 3 star bc they kept me entertained even tho the characters were annoying when in the spotlight lol (except Raylan but we all know why ((I'm in love with him)))

this book had me stressedd, I didn't quite know what to expect from Seb but I ended up really liking him and Yelena was interesting enough
I have to say though you CANNOT call your partner daddy while you're having hate sex cause your dad killed his dad 😭

So, 'Heavy Crown'... Not gonna lie, this one didn't quite hit the spot for me. I've been all in for the "Brutal Birthright" series, but this book felt a bit lackluster. It's like the series reached its peak, and now we're on the descending slope. The romance between Sebastian and Yelena started off promising, but it quickly veered into insta-love territory. And the plot? Well, let's just say it felt a bit too predictable and cliché.

Sebastian and Yelena are dealing with their fair share of baggage, and I was here for the character development. Sebastian, searching for purpose after a dream-shattering event, and Yelena, stuck in a toxic Bratva family dynamic, had potential. But then, the plot took center stage, and things got a bit messy. It felt like the author was in a hurry to wrap things up and set the stage for the spin-off series, sacrificing the emotional depth and resolution that the story deserved.

Don't get me wrong; there are moments that shine, especially when exploring the bleak mafia world they inhabit. But as the story rushed towards its conclusion, I couldn't help but feel a bit detached. It needed to pump the brakes, take a breath, and let us savor the emotional complexities between the characters and their families.

3.5 stars overall.
