I love this book so much. It reminds me of my now deceased crazy dog and his many interesting antics. I cried hysterically at the end, but it was all worth it. It is definitely one of the best books I've ever read. If you love animals..READ IT. Read it even if you don't love animals! Maybe you'll grow to love them.

I love dogs and this is a great dog book.

Wholesome then sad AF. I really enjoyed reading the story of the couples pregnancy journey.

I have to say the author does a wonderful job of expressing the emotions that surround having a family pet. I don't think my dog growing up ever had the amount of behavior problems that Marley did, but the story really mimics the love that my whole family grew to have for Penney. I almost didn't read the last 3 chapters though. I could feel so personally the story that John Grogan told about watching is dog grow old and having to acknowledge that would die soon. I started crying on the bus and had to put the book down untill I had a more private moment.

It was only ok. An easy, cute read. Moderately entertaining, however I wouldn't read it again.
funny sad fast-paced

i finally broke down and read this saptacular ode-to-a-bad-dog. yes, i cried and yes it was endearing but not really anything new. the author did a nice job of reading it.

This book was beautifully written...laugh out loud funny in places, and very sad, too. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I literally laughed out loud during his description of Marley's first encounter with snow. I could almost see him out there dancing in it. Hilarious. The saddest part of this book, to me, was not the inevitable ending, but the decline...watching the eternal puppy become old and decrepit. Sad, but worth every page.

I wanted to read this after seeing the movie, just to see if the two were in sync. What do you know, they were!!! The movie was very true to the book and I was most impressed. Both were excellent. :)
