I was unsure how I felt about this book the whole way through, and I'm still not sure. But that is how every Neil Gaiman book has made me feel and I keep reading them so?

It gave me strong Wrinkle in Time vibes - where there are Mystical Adults who know about The Universe and some poor normal kid gets swept up in it and has to figure it out alone.

3.5 ⭐s. This was good! My first from Neil Gaiman, and while I like his writing well enough, this didn't blow me away. The premise was solid, very folktale-esque, and I loved the twist at the end. Will definitely be picking up more from this author.

Maybe would’ve rated it a little higher if not for the worm scene
