Lightly spooky and lightly paranormal. Great Halloween read for a younger teen (or an adult like me who doesn’t like scary books) looking for some creep factor but not up for serious bone chilling. Well written and well read on audio.

I can now add Gansey and Ronan Lynch to the seemingly never-ending list of fictional characters I'm in love with

OH MY GOODNESSAKDLGKAJGOAJROTJLGJAFLG

At night, Henrietta felt like magic, and at night, magic felt like it might be a terrible thing.

Every time I read the description of this book, I was even more confused about what it was about. It came across as a ghost version of Twilight (and with Maggie Stiefvater's track record with Shiver, no wonder) but the constant hype surrounding it, even after all these years, finally won me over.

The cover helped too.

I LOVED THIS! The characters are all amazing, and even when a certain character's existence felt unnecessary at first, by the end they were properly justified and I felt an emotional connection to them. I LOVE the boys themselves. They're all such wonderful, well-rounded characters. I really liked Blue as well, and her wacky family stole my heart.

Can we just talk about how Ronan--Ronan of all people; the scary angst king--is the mother of a baby raven? Because MY HEART CAN'T TAKE IT!

"You're looking for a god. Didn't you suspect that there was also a devil?"

The themes are amazing. The imagery is perfect. The intrigue and connections and mystery were masterful. This is spooky and heartfelt and real and magical. It's everything I didn't think it would be. I laughed, I cried, I had a good time.

Thank you, Maggie Stiefvater. Thank you GR friends, for keeping this on my newsfeed.

She recognized the strange happiness that came from loving something without knowing why you did, that strange happiness that was sometimes so big that it felt like sadness. It was the way she felt when she looked at the stars.

The plot is very captivating and moves quickly. Definitely a book you won't want to put down. The characters are interesting and so is the worldbuilding. I recommend!

This book was absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. I'm not sure if its good or not that I did this
description
A lot through the book, but I doubt it's bad however.
Im not sure how to say this, but this book sure surpasses the crap of a seires that's called Mercy Falls. No offense Stepfather, but I really do think this is your best work yet and don't ever go back to doing something so juvenile as the Mercy Falls series.

Anyhow, this book wasn't boring, yet it wasn't always on the edge of your seat - flipping pages like crazy, yet you can't stop reading it. Each chapter, no matter how insignificant you think, always has something interesting that will keep you engaged. I finished this book basically over a two day period. I was determined to finish it today, and I did. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.

Again - anyways, this book has everything you love. Characters with development and soul.
Each character has a distinct personality, back story - or well mainly everybody, and just is always pleasant to read about. Sometimes you want to cry - like I have a few times during this book and other times you want to throw your arms around in the air like a maniac. Quite like the GIF I showed before.

This book isn't a romance novel at all, unless you count hand holding a few times and refusing of kisses, then it is. However, I am quite sure it isn't and for all of you pre-teens to teens out there, just because there isn't romance doesn't mean its not a great book.

I can't believe I'm going to have to wait for the next one, but at least I'll be able to recommend this book like crazy.
