liked this a lot! it made me read it a lot slower than other graphic novels, and I enjoyed that greatly

I think it's cool that there is a book on this topic, and that the author was so honest. The part of me that doesn't want to think about the possibility of being pregnant (which is like, all of me) found it not triggering, but maybe unrelatable and uncomfortable. there was some very 2013 commentary on transmascs being like butch lesbians but that we want to be special. didn't love that. the queer experience in this memoir is pretty much none of my queer experience, just not my area of the gays

I classically hate graphic novels and didn’t realize this was one until I started. I gave myself the ability to put it down if I didn’t like it but I felt like I couldn’t. I really enjoyed the perspective that was brought up as pregnancy is so co-opted by cis het white women. There were definitely things that date this book, but I enjoyed it a lot and I feel like I will meditate on some of the images for my own upcoming birth.
I read this shortly after giving birth to my son. While no two pregnancy experiences are the same, I really enjoyed reading a perspective similar to mine. Being pregnant was not as magical for me as it was confusing to my identity.

Apparently every cis butch work from the 2010s requires some sort of overwrought transphobic lamentation (also, whether she knew it or not, the dig against bois in the foreword is super racist). Other than that BS it was an enjoyable read; I’ll likely revisit a few panels but not reread it fully.

I honestly wish I had given every book on here FOUR stars, so I could give THIS ONE five! It's my new favorite book. From the Tintin nods to the deep investigation of identity, presentation, gender and sexuality from the 70s until today. And lots of important birthing information, as well. And OMG the panels on the pain. Oh, honey.
