Yet another Stanislaskis novel. I am not quite sure what to think of this one. On one hand I enjoyed the characters, both of them seperately seeming interesting and the side characters, some of them having appeared in their own stories before seemed very nice. But some parts of this story just seemed to rub me the wrong way. Freddie seemed to put so much pressure on Nick, at times almost forcing herself onto him. Of course this can be seen as a romantic and interesting, for once the initiative coming from the female. But just some of her actions, the way she was sometimes using her body to press or rub against him seemed off to me. So what if he is attracted to her as well, or if she believes he is the love of her life? He has a right to decide not to follow through on those feelings, even if that decision is based on stupid ideas and wrong ideals. She, however has no right to force this relationship if he says no. And I guess that pretty much sums up my problem with this book. Otherwise it was pretty good, the chemistry between the two good for the most part, the interactions with the family funny and heartwarming. And, once Nick "came around", the romantic scenes worked pretty good as well.

Let's start out positive: You fly through this book. It's easy to understand and a nice lighter read, which is great when you are - like I am right now - in a bit of a reading slump. But obviously I would've rated it more than two stars if I had actually enjoyed it, so here are some of my less positive thoughts.
For the majority of this book, I was just rolling my eyes at Freddie. She may think of herself as a Grown Woman who is Real Mature, but she reads like a 16-18 year old obsessed teenager. Honestly, I was kinda rooting for her to not end up with the "love of her life" because I just thought her whole attitude towards him was so unhealthy and obsessive. I don't expect too much when I read these romancy novels, but this one was honestly one of the worst I've read in my life. More than once, the thought patterns and dialogue just made me laugh, when they clearly weren't meant to be funny.
And please, for the sake of my sanity, can we quit the whole Everyone-knows-they-are-in-love-except-for-(one half of)The-Couple-Themselves trope? Because damn it's annoying.
And all the overprotective dads/brothers/brothersinlaw/uncles/familyfriends/Idon'tevenknowdude. Please just leave.

I am totally enjoying this entire series! I'd read the first couple I'd books before but now I'm into ones I haven't read before.
This is such a wonderful story! I cannot wait to read more in the series!

Gosto imenso deste casal! Um bom livro - aliás a série é toda muito gira!
