An absolute masterpiece! Such a strong voice, I cannot wait to read everything else Caroline writes!
Hmm an actually very honest book about admiting the things we want but shouldn’t admit we want them
Although I did roll my eyes a little at how many times she mentioned saving things for her future books (lol), there was some beautiful prose in here that really touched me.
When I read the words “One way of leaving is behaving so badly that you are left.” I was like damn girl okay you got me.

This book was as addictive as it was unhinged.
I’ve been following Caroline Calloway for a few years now, originally because I loved her Cambridge Captions and then continuing because of the same morbid curiosity that makes it hard for us to look away from accidents.
I don’t believe 90% of this book is remotely factual, but it was fun to read and, true to her intentions, I finished it in almost one day (two, really).
I would have rated it higher because of how incredibly addictive it was if only it hadn’t felt so repetitive and if only she didn’t get so bogged down with trying to sound literary - seriously, some of the sentences were so twisted they were a chore to read.
Still, definitely a recommended read, especially if you are invested in pop culture.

Graphic: Addiction, Death, Suicide
an interesting one for sure with So much lore and such an unreliable narrator. i didn’t believe a word she said but i also see her truth in everything. half felt like a memoir and also like an advertisement for cc’s future books.
