Really not for me... such a man whore. I am not a fan when the hero is in bed with someone else at the start of the book who is not the heroine or even in bed with someone else in between being with the heroine and then being back with her.

He said he was being honest not sure if he could love her and be faithful to her and he had his reasons but what about the poor girl, pregnant with his baby. Grow up.

Well that was... exhausting.

I think I read this fast because I just wanted it to end. I waited so long for this, but when I read it... I was bothered by both characters.

Erik was a mean ass to Piper. I wanted to drag him out pf the book and feed him to the dinosaurs!!! I SWEAR!! I wanted to throw my Nook because he was being so selfish and so damn immature. I hated hat he was doing the same thing over and over again to intentionally or unintentionally hurt Piper. I hate how child-like he is and I hate his lack of balls. Lastly, I hate his way of thinking. He keeps on saying that he's afraid to be like his parents when we all know that you are your own person. Such drama in a guy's life, ugh.

Piper on the other hand is a darn beautiful martyr. She kept on hoping that Erik will change. In fact, she kept on voicing it out that her lines were so predictable. She was always doting on him even when they're fighting. If you ask me, I think she spoiled Erik's character. The only thing that I loved about her is her iron will when she destroyed Erik's toys. Gosh. I guess that's fiction for us. Even with the blatant lack of respect, the heroine still loves the jerk. I just.. I can't even think of a relationship like this in real life. It's plain torture.

Of course, they still have their happy ending, but the thing is... I don't buy it. I can't get the way Erik treated Piper at the start out of my system and I surely can't get rid of my disappointment with regards Piper's character. Of course I love that they have their baby and all that, however, there's a nagging feeling at the back of my head that reminds me of their attitudes. lol. Maybe if I read this again, I'll feel better, but for now... hmm.. No, sorry.

wayyyy before:

absolutely love Toni Aleo books and this one in particular is a heartstrings puller and from beginning to end it is a fabulous book and is a great addition to the assassin series and could not wait to read more about Erik and Piper in the other books to come.

I got to read an early copy of this so it was still in production when I read it. I love these guys and Erik Titov is perfect. I still love Lucas Brooks, but Erik Titov's harrowing childhood and his inability to allow love in is heartbreaking.

Piper is such an amazing person, that it's ridiculous that Erik would treat her the way he did. But when you realize his demons, you'll understand him just a bit more. It was a bit draggy in the middle, but I have a feeling it will be cleaned up in post production. Toni's voice shines through and I love the Assassins even though I'm a diehard Bruins fan!

I am in a total love/hate relationship with this series. It seems to alternate with each one. I have to say Erik... well, I just wanted to punch him so hard in the throat - and I am really not a violent person.

The convo with all the men talking about being attracted to women other than their partners... well, Lucas really really pissed me off. How would any of them have felt if the women had said that, for example, if a teacher looked at them in a 'certain' way it made their pussy all wet? Mmm, not too impressed methinks...

I guess, I think, the fact that this series has created such a strong reaction... well, the author can only be applauded.

This book was really poorly written, and could have used a good editing as well. About 70% of the book was nothing but long exposition of the characters' inner thoughts. Too much telling and not even remotely enough showing. Constant referral to how the Male MC was "damaged" but poor exposition didn't sell me on it. Couldn't find the characters likable for that reason.

3.5* I loved the first book in this series, and the rest have not lived up to it at all. This one came close. I really liked Erik and Piper. The thing that has gotten to me over the last 3 books is the incessant repetitive inner dialogue. We get it! Loved that it was both POV. Piper did not come across as whiney as Audrey and Fallen did to me. Really aggrevated that the book ends at 89%, then filled with the first chapters of book one, like anyone reading this hasn't probably already read that! Also, please match the cover with the character description in the book, don't describe a man with a tattoo that takes up his shoulder blades and then put a man with no tatoo, in high waisted jeans (that Erik wouldn't wear) on the cover:) Really hoping that Reese and Phillip get together. Just saying:))
