I enjoyed the book, but like many mystery/suspense novels, the ending seemed to be super abrupt after a lot of build up. Won't stop me from continuing the series, however.

Some of the characters (Frost, Angela, Maura) are physically very different from the tv series, but still a great read!

This is a chilling story of two serial killers, one in prison, who breaks out with the help of the second. They then unite to kill together. If you watch the Rizzoli series on tv, you will notice that there are differences in the charcters. This book is a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

It had suspense, mystery, a touch of romance, and murder scenes. Some of them disturbing that makes your hair crawl. The ending made me gasp and wonder what is to come in the next book.

Took me longer to get into this book than the first. This book follows on from the plot in The Surgeon. Rizzoli was still battling the same demons and issues so there was no new major development to her character.

Dr Isles at last made her appearance and you got a bit more of Rizzoli's family life, which for those of you who like me are fans of the TV series, the characters are totally different.

I am unsure of why The Apprentice was written as it was just far too similar to The Surgeon, almost like reading a second rate version of the first novel. However, it was still well written and I enjoyed it however it just felt slightly lacking from her opening novel.

I didn't think Ms Gerritsen would be able to top The Surgeon but I was wrong. Fast paced, edge of the seat and I admit to being unable to put this down.

Jane Rizzoli is a tough cop, just a shade away from being unlikeable but we finally see her humanity in this one.

Looking forward to reading the next.

What an amazing follow up from book 1 The Surgeon! Intense doesn’t begin to describe The Apprentice, this is a on the edge of your seat, heart racing suspense that i couldn’t get enough of. There is consistently always something going on. Not only is it a fast paced thriller but i find myself learning so much about things like autopsies and medical procedures ect..

I’m so glad we got to hear about Jane Rizzoli in more depth , I not only like her more in this book but i understand her better. Her character has come along way in this book, her character development was amazing. I loved the tension between her and mysterious FBI Agent Gabriel Dean. I found his character so intriguing. Would LOVE for him to be in more of this series, i can’t get enough!!!

One year after Rizzoli put ‘The Surgeon” behind bars a new serial killer is on the loose, with extreme similarities to the surgeons signatures Jane gets dragged into the case and has to face a lot of demons she spent a year trying to fight. When The Surgeon escapes from jail she is once again a target. (My first thoughts on him escaping from jail was that it seemed far fetched but as you go into his mind it all then makes sense and works out well)

i’ve never been more hooked on a series of books quite like these before, i can not put them down and i can not wait to start the next. they are everything you want in a thriller book. it exceeds my expectations and i would happily add these books to the top of my favourites list.
