adventurous dark mysterious tense fast-paced

This book is written and fast paced. Easy to read and keeps your attention. Continued with elements of the first book and introduced Isles character. Really enjoying the series overall and already reading the next book.

I do see the characters from the TV show when reading since I'd seen that show first before stumbling on the books. That's hard becasue the books does descirbe many characters and pieces of the story different. That's ok but just strange when I have a picture in my mind already.

I didn't think Ms Gerritsen would be able to top The Surgeon but I was wrong. Fast paced, edge of the seat and I admit to being unable to put this down.

Jane Rizzoli is a tough cop, just a shade away from being unlikeable but we finally see her humanity in this one.

Looking forward to reading the next.

The second book in the Rizzoli and Isles series is just as chilling and suspense as The Surgeon. I would recommend reading [b:The Surgeon|32263|The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles, #1)|Tess Gerritsen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1277923728s/32263.jpg|2674805] first as it gives the creepy background to Warren. This series is gritty and so addicting. Gerritsen must have some medical background as there some descriptions and words beyond my understanding, but it sounds legit.

I found that it took me a bit more time to complete this book compared to others. However, I noticed an interesting parallel with the first season of the TV show. Overall, I enjoyed the book and particularly appreciated the character of Rizzoli. That being said, I did wish that Isles had a more prominent role in the series, similar to her involvement in the TV show.

For about half of this book, I missed Thomas Moore from the first book, and the abundance of cold, medical analysis, which I like. There was some of it in the second book in this series, but not as much as I'd like.
