When I started reading this book I thought I got it figured out but man was I wrong. I love it when a character is seen as an underdog but in the end is one of the most powerful in the novel. I know that this is a murder story but it taught me a life lesson and that is that I can only be myself in this world. I gave this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

This is the second in Tess Gerritsen’s Rizzoli & Isles books. They’re so incredibly different from the TV show (which I also enjoy, but for very different reasons). This book hooked me from the beginning with its fast pace, great characters and fluid writing style. I thought the ending was a little too pat and easy… the lead-up to the final encounter was so dramatic that the quick wrap-up felt like a bit of a let-down, but definitely not enough to detract from my overall enjoyment of this book. I’ll be looking for the next in the series!

Not as good as The Surgeon but still decent. Annoying that the hundred page mystery is solved in five pages. I’ll keep reading from the series, tho.

A creepy follow up to The Surgeon, I loved reading The Apprentice. Rizzoli and Isles is a new favourite series of mine.

Deja vu. I had the really strange feeling I had already read this. I finally realized that one of the episodes of the TV series "Rizzoli and Isles" was based on this book.

It's actually very good. I'm not a huge fan of Tess Gerritsen's writing, it sometimes seems like she doesn't really know how her books are going to end until she herself gets to the end, but when she's on her game her books are great.

This is one of her better books.

The second book in the Rizzoli and Isles series was on its way to become a 5 star book. Its a classic Tess Gerritsen until 75% of the book. The build up was fantastic and I was ready to be surprised by a plot twist. But instead the end was very mediocre and it felt very rushed

Another thoroughly enjoyable thriller by Gerritson. I love her work. I have a feeling the images from the first murder scene and the session in the autopsy room with the Queen of the Dead are going to stay with me for a long time to come. I think that's what I like about Gerritson's work so much is that she writes these secenes that will haunt you for a long time after you've finished the book.
