I'm not a fan of abstract literature but Lispector's unique style of prose, her "stream of consciousness" is such an engrossing voice she holds you hostage in her text. Wholly unpretentious, writing for the sake of writing; this is the essence of art.

Anlatıcı kendisini de katıyor bu hikayenin içine. Ve anlatılan Macabea'yı sevmek pek mümkün değil. Sanki insanda rahatsızlık ve acıma uyandırmak üzerine var bu hayatta yalnızca.
Onun silik, sessiz yaşamına kısa bir tanıklık gibi bu kitabı okumak da. İlginç bir deneyimdi. Yaşam Suyu'nu dinleyeceğim en kısa zamanda.

Really not sure what to think about this one.
Unfortunately I didn’t really feel connected or care for any of the characters, it was confusing & hard to read. It was more a conscious stream of thought by the narrator of why he wants to write a book & what he wants to write about with snippets of details rather than being about the story itself.
