Morgenavond boekenclub!

a book that requires multiple readings for sure.
quite meta and philosophical, about how writers create worlds/stories that are always under a sort of "police state" - that being themselves. the way the main character is written about by the narrator suggests a sort of sadism relationship between a writer and their suffering characters. quite the religious undertones, with the way virginity and praying is talked about. reminded me of the movie "the room next door" by pedro almodovar - both talk about female loneliness, and both medias has this uncanny method of talking/speaking that can be quite strange/unnatural to read.

It can get slightly confusing at times because the narrator is consciously narrating the story, but the writing style was interesting, and I'm always down for a bit of existential dread.
