Translations are so interesting and I love a good translator’s note. This one’s note shed some light on something I couldn’t put into words while I was reading: Lispector uses words and grammar in really interesting ways. It adds to this dreamlike, almost nonsensical quality that is then interrupted by these moments of extreme clarity. Very cool.

a real, beautiful tragedy. just like life: too short

i have reached Lispector territory!✨

her last book, her swan song is my 1st Clarice Lispector novel and no regrets bumping this up my tbr, her writing is beautiful, thought provoking, fragmented but soulful and brave, it disconnects you then it pulls you back in, some lines here you have to/ want to read twice because they slip into your consciousness and you feel the “foreign aura” of it.

this also talks about inner freedom which is very important to me, how one may be in the most stressful or dire situation but cannot never be void of choice.

What is the weight of light? A thousand pointed stars✨

thanks to great translators, my wit month continues (women in translation)

thankyou to my bestest book buddy Shey for lending me her physical copy
